Can't wait for Hopper Bugs to be released? Here's how to make a nasty flying bug ... Take BUG203 from our Bugs range and the spare legs from the Arachnids in the Starship Troopers Box. There are 2 spare legs on every arachnid sprue. |

Nice little bug (BUG203)
Cut the back 2 legs off each side, but cut them out with a chunk of plastic behind to keep them together |

Carve out a recess for the replacement legs. This was first blood to the arachnids. Careful with that scalpel ! |
Use superglue to fix the Arachnid legs in position. On one of the bugs I assembled, I also carved some extra plastic away from between the remaining front 2 legs to give better positioning for the new middle legs

Remove a notch of plastic from the face. Glue 2 of the legs that were removed from underneath to the face

Actually on day 2, I have now sprayed the wings black as well and will dry brush them. Seemed a shame to spray over translucent wings but ultimately I think painting them will look better. There is plenty of texture in the wing surface that can be highlighted Will paint the colours when I have assembled more - but tonight they will be on the game table in black! |
